  1. So this guy is a scam? I thought so. When he started asking me for money to send to get the ball rolling, & I said no, I havent heard back since. Is there any one else that has been getting this email from Andrew Newbury?

  5. Seriously, you can't beleive any emails you get from strangers. This guy is now posing as Andrew Norton... A lawyer/barrister based in London...
He had my email address and my first and last names. He added my surname to some fake person in London who he is supposed to represent. Then he tries to tell me that hes been looking for a relative of this deceased person (who just happens to share my last name and lots of money for me to inherit). Of course I can't tell anyone about the transaction or arrangement. Just another Nigerian scammer who still can't write in English properly... I mean seriously... if you were really a lawyer, I'm sure you would know the difference between preceding and proceeding let alone know how to spell it! What a dick! To all those potential victims out there, use your head and don't let greed blind you!!!

  6. I just received an email from him saying his first attempt t contact me I did not reply.

I did reply to this and said I hadn't heard from him before.

Five minutes went by then he sent another email saying that that was the first email he sent.

Im glad I Googled his name and found these comments.

As soon as I read htere was thirty million involced I knew it was crap. Who would be that wealthy and not have a will!

Thanks again for your messages, you saved me getting involved

  7. Unfortunately my brother fell for this scam and lost a lot of money that he could not afford. I just wish he had contacted me first - I could have told him it was a scam just by looking at it. It was sent to undisclosed recipients and never addresses any one by name in his emails.
Rule of thumb - if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
Also beward of another email circulating that is titled COMPENSATION UNIT ... offering US$250,000.00 compensation from the United Nations to any one who has been scammed... I received this in a voluntary organisation email address that I manage - and I certainly haven't been scammed using that email address or any other.
